2008 Toyota Car, SUV & Pickup Truck EPA Fuel Economy Guide
The following chart lists the most current EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for Toyota vehicles. The vehicles are organized by model, engine, trim-level or body style, and transmission.
It is important to remember that fuel economy rating standards were changed for the 2008 model year. Starting with 2008 model year, new criteria were added to the EPA calculations in an effort to try to account for more "real world" driving conditions, including faster speeds, more aggressive acceleration and the use of accessories like air conditioning. As a result, figures are closer to the mileage many customers might actually achieve in day-to-day driving. However, as always no ratings can predict what any actual consumer will get as that will depend on many other factors, including how they maintain and drive their car.
Toyota 2008 vehicles do not actually use more fuel then 2007 models. But because the rating methodology is more "realistic," the 2008 figures are often lower.
